Dear Friends, Amidst the difficult times of Covid 19 pandemic, I would like, as the President, to announce important news. The MIPS Executive Board has succeeded in negotiating and signing a 3-year agreement (2021-2023) with the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) Journal- https://journals.lww.com/jpelvicsurgery/pages/default.aspx - the official journal of the American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS). The agreement will allow MIPS members to have full on-line access to the Journal, both the current and archived contents, through the secure area of the MIPS membership website. In return, FPMRS will be the OFFICIAL journal of MIPS and this statement will be displayed with the MIPS logo on both the hard copy and the website of the Journal. The terms of agreement include three annual subscription phases to MIPS members: a- Year 2021: Complimentary b- Year 2022: 15 US$/Member c- Year 2023: 25 US$/Member We believe that this is an important administrative milestone intended to promote research, education and publishing in our society, with a very reasonable cost to members because FPMRS is one of the leading peer- reviewed and indexed journals in pelvic floor and incontinence research. This endeavor offers the opportunity for our members to gain access to additional literature resources and have another platform for scientific publishing. The journal strategy at present is to actively seek international readership and authorship and solicit broader participation from regional societies outside North America. I advise our young colleagues, whether fellows or residents, to use such occasion to submit their research and share the findings of studies performed in Mediterranean settings with a wider audience. Besides the educational value, there is a great promotional benefit to our society from this agreement, as the name and logo of MIPS will be clearly exhibited on the journal every month.
